Samsung announced last week an official calendar of Android 11 updates for Galaxy devices. The list includes more than 40 mobile phones and tablets that should receive the successor of Android 10 between December 2020 and September 2021. The devices that will receive Google’s new system ranges from cheaper smartphones, such as the Galaxy A01 Core, to high-end phones, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The relationship was disclosed by the manufacturer’s subsidiary in Egypt and also give a hint of the reference deadlines for other countries.
The new version of Google’s system brings features such as a Dedicated Section in the Notifications for Messaging Apps, new media control, native screen recorder, and more privacy settings. The software will be released to Samsung smartphones in conjunction with OneUI 3.0, the manufacturer’s interface that promises further customization of the blocking screen, among other improvements.
The Galaxy S20 line will be the first to receive the new Android, still in December 2020. However, cell phones from the A and M series will also receive the package. The list also includes phones launched in past years, such as the Galaxy S10 line. Among the tablets, there will be updated both new models, such as the Galaxy Tab S7, and the Samsung Galaxy A 10.1, from 2019.
The calendar mentions different release phases of Android 11. The reference months indicate the maximum period for the update. Therefore, users should receive the new system gradually within each stipulated period. The dates disclosed are valid for Egypt and may vary in other regions.
However, owners of the Galaxy S20 in the U.S. are already beginning to report the arrival of the update. See the complete list:
