Xiaomi is making it harder and harder for us with its extensive catalog, recreating itself in the Redmi 9 family. Today we were expecting to see the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T, but what has come as a surprise is a squire who has come to complete the 4G showcase of the brand’s mid-range: the new Xiaomi Redmi 9T.
This is the international version of the Xiaomi Redmi 9 Power, which is updated in several respects from the first Xiaomi Redmi 9 but maintaining some similarities (also with the Redmi Note 9 4G). A potential rival of another cheap mobile, the Realme 7i, which gets on the cart of the 6,000 mAh battery.

Eventful Color and FullHD+
From a rear with the central module and the circular halo on the Note 9T, we move to the “domino” in a corner with the new Redmi 9T and the fingerprint reader on the side. Also, in the front, a notch in a drop shape is used to fit the front camera.
Thus, in the Redmi 9T, they have kept that bright and colorful plastic back that reminds us directly of other predecessors, the Redmi 9A and 9C, precisely by keeping the blue, orange, green, and black colors.
The screen is flat and practically made with the same mold as the initial Redmi 9. The 6.53 inch IPS with FullHD+ resolution is maintained. 60 Hz panel, 19.5:9 ratio, TÃœV Rheinland and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 certified.
That the battery life is extended with the 4G
The processor is from Qualcomm this time, unlike the first Redmi 9. It is the Snapdragon 662, leaving the RAM at 4 GB and with storage options of 64 or 128 GB (and up to 512 GB with microSD).
With this processor, it is the “4G brother” of the new Redmi Note 9T. But they have made more room for the battery since they have managed to introduce a 6,000 mAh battery. They have done so while maintaining the weight of 198 grams and almost the dimensions (it is only 0.5 millimeters thicker, negligible) of the Redmi 9, with a fast charge of 18W and including in the box is the charger at 22.5W.
Of course, the internationalization suits this model because the Redmi 9T does have NFC, although it does not have a minijack of 3.5 mm. It does have stereo audio, which is not very common in modest mobiles, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 and dual SIM.
Speaking of cameras, the four rear ones are kept and the brand takes advantage of increasing the megapixels (although it is not the most important thing to increase the quality of the photos) with respect to its predecessors and other rival mobiles. Together with the front one, this is what they look like:
- Main camera: 48-megapixel sensor (1/2 inch and 0.8 pixels μm) with aperture lens f/1.79
- Wide-angle: 8 megapixels with f/2.2 lens and 120-degree field of view
- Macro: 2 megapixels (1.75 pixels μm) and f/2.4 lens.
- Portrait: 2 megapixels (1.75 pixels μm) and f/2.4 lens.
- Front: 8 megapixels (1.12 pixels μm) with f/2.05 aperture lens.
Price and Availability of the Xiaomi Redmi 9T
The new Xiaomi Redmi 9T will be available from January 9 at Xiaomi Official store, from EUR 159, although as a special launch offer it will be available for a little less.
As we have mentioned, there will be three variants – 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB, and 6GB+128GB for EUR 159, EUR 189, and EUR 199, respectively depending on storage and four colors: Carbon Gray, Twilight Blue, Sunrise Orange, Ocean Green.
