Xiaomi’s Mi MIX series had not been updated since 2019 when they presented the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 and the Mi MIX Alpha until this year they finally showed the Mi MIX Fold. This line is usually intended for high-end mobiles, exclusive and with some striking feature, and in the case of the new Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 it does so without being foldable, but with the camera under the screen.
Mi MIX 4 is perhaps a more direct and natural evolution from the Mi MIX 3, without having a shape factor different from what we see today. A mobile with a large AMOLED screen that looks 100% with thin frames, Corning Gorilla Class Victus, and with the camera under screen.

It is not foldable but maintains the elegance of its predecessors
As with the Mi MIX since the first, the aesthetics has revolved around elegance and sophistication, taking advantage of this somewhat differential series to opt for other more expensive materials. One of the highlights is ceramic, which they have presented in three colors: white, gray, and black.
As we have said, the screen is the focus on a front that is not interrupted either by a hole or by thicker upper and lower frames. This is thanks to the technology that debuts with this mobile and already anticipated in a previous state, showing in the presentation how it manages to hide the camera under the screen.
The front camera has a density of 400 pixels per inch. Xiaomi talks about diamond-shaped micro-pixels, which means smaller and, according to the brand, brighter pixels. All of them in a distribution that minimizes light diffraction, something important to avoid erroneous results in selfies.
Of course, the screen of the MIX 4 is flat, being a 6.67-inch AMOLED with a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 and HDR10 support. The resolution isn’t quite up to par with what you’d expect from a flagship either, with FullHD+ and a pixel density of 386 pixels. Although, the maximum refresh rate is 120 Hz.
Ultimate power and connectivity
The Xiaomi MIX 4 integrates the latest Qualcomm processor for the high-end, the Snapdragon 888+. It accompanies it with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and with UFS 3.1 storage of up to 512 GB.
With this chip, the MIX 4 has 5G, support for WiFi 6, and also for ultra-wideband, having NFC and Bluetooth 5.2. The sound is stereo, with the collaboration of the specialized brand Harman Kardon.
Although it is not a thick mobile, in its 225 grams of weight. There is a 4,500 mAh battery with 120 W fast charging and a 50 W wireless charging. According to the manufacturer, with this, the mobile is charged from 0 to 100% in 28 minutes, although by default it will do it in 45 to not damage the battery and promising that the temperature will not increase excessively.
A great module with no extra screens, but with a lot of sense
The camera module is bulbous and unobtrusive like the one we saw on the Mi 11 Ultra, but it doesn’t feature an extra screen. That said, there is a configuration that does not pull filler lenses and that proposes a versatile and powerful camera scheme.
The main camera has a 108-megapixel Samsung sensor with optical stabilization and a lens with f/1.95 aperture, the ultra-wide-angle has a 13-megapixel sensor with a lens with a 120-degree field of view, and for its part, the telephoto lens also maintains an OIS system and has an 8-megapixel sensor. With this, the MIX 4 can capture with a 5x optical and 50x digital zoom.
The front camera has a 20-megapixel sensor and, as we explained before, comes hidden under the display. The brand promises very sharp photos.
Pricing and Availability of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 has been presented at an event in China and for now, we only know the prices for that market:

It will be available in three colors (white, black and gray). The brand has already confirmed that it will not arrive in Europe, so it is a mobile that will be exclusive to the Chinese market.
