Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro: Features, Reviews, and Price

Last year Samsung launched its Galaxy Buds Live, a completely wireless headset with a peculiar bean shape. In them, the company opted strongly for sound quality and noise cancellation and now refines that formula with its new Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. These have been announced together with the Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra and, of course, aspire to be the flagship of Samsung’s wireless sound.

Why? Because the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro is very focused on sound quality, and Samsung has implemented an 11-millimeter woofer and a 6.5-millimeter tweeter inside, without forgetting, of course, active noise cancellation. Now that the presentations are done, let’s get to know them a little better.

Dual speaker and active noise cancellation (and adaptive)

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro

Although the new Samsung headphones are slightly inspired by the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, they are more reminiscent of the original Galaxy Buds. They have IPX7 resistance and we found three microphones in the chassis that will bring to life the active noise cancellation, the microphone, and Wind Shield Sound technology.

What is this technology? Well, it is used to have a clear voice during calls even if it is windy. We have already seen it implemented in one way or another in other headsets and the result is usually interesting, although it is better to wait until we can analyze them to get out of doubts. In view of this, it is convenient to stop with the active noise cancellation.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro have ANC, that is, they emit waves contrary to the ambient sound to cancel it up to 99%, according to Samsung, and improve the sound experience. This cancellation is customizable, so we can decide how much noise we want to cancel, but the most interesting thing is that it is adaptive. For example, the headset detects when we are talking and automatically switches to Ambient Sound mode to let the voice of our interlocutor through.

Inside the headphones, there is a double speaker, something that is not common in completely wireless headphones. On the one hand, we have an 11-millimeter woofer that will reproduce the medium and low frequencies (up to 20 Hz). On the other hand, there is a 6.5-millimeter tweeter that will reproduce the highest frequencies (up to 20 kHz). The idea is that the speakers will complement each other to offer better sound quality.

On the other hand, and as far as the battery is concerned, Samsung assures that its headphones are capable of offering up to five hours of continuous music reproduction. When the case is charged, this autonomy amounts to 18 hours. Also, the company has implemented a fast-charge system that allows for an hour of playback in just five minutes.

Finally, an interesting feature to highlight is the Auto Switch. By linking the headset to the Galaxy Wearable app in Android, the headset can be connected to one or another device depending on the context. For example, if we are playing on the tablet and we receive a call on the mobile, we can answer it automatically from the headset without having to connect it manually to the mobile, as the process is automatic.

Price and Availability of Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro can be purchased from now on for $200. They will be available in three colors: silver, black, and lilac. This time the bronze color we saw on the Galaxy Buds Live is not available.
