PS VR2: see 8 games available to enjoy at launch

The PlayStation VR2, also known as PS VR2, is Sony’s new virtual reality display, exclusive to PlayStation 5 (PS5). The device comes bundled with games that allow players to go on immersive adventures. Among the options already available are big names such as Resident Evil Village and Gran Turismo 7. In turn, Horizon Call of the Mountain is the main exclusive novelty for those who have bought or will buy the device. See, below, for details about these and more titles, such as the storyline, gameplay, and performance of the PS VR2 in each one.

1. Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village

The eighth game in Capcom’s series, Resident Evil Village follows Ethan Winters on his quest to rescue his daughter. Now, the player will have the opportunity to come face-to-face with Lady Dimitrescu in a very different way. That’s because the game, published in 2021, is getting a free update for the PS5 version with PlayStation VR2 support starting the day the display is released.

With this, the title brings the entire campaign in a hyper-realistic first-person perspective, with advanced features such as HDR visuals in 4K, eye tracking, and 3D audio. The Sense controls also boast new gameplay features, such as blocking attacks by raising your arms and using dual-wielding weapons.

2. Gran Turismo 7

3. Swordsman VR

Swordsman VR

Originally released in 2020 for PlayStation VR and PC, Swordsman VR is a sword dueling game with first-person combat. In it, you can customize your character and fight in dynamic arenas to unlock the final boss battle. With realistic physics and challenging attacks and defenses, the title requires strategy and skill to defeat your opponents.

Those who already own the PS VR version can upgrade it for free to play on PS VR 2. Developed by Sinn Studio, the game is delivering great value for money for fans of virtual reality simulators.

4. Jurassic World Aftermath Collection

Jurassic

In Jurassic World Aftermath, the immersion provided by PS5 and PlayStation VR2 technology, 4K visuals at 90 frames per second, and 3D audio create a gripping survival adventure. Released by Coatsink initially for Nintendo Switch, the game features a plot that takes place between Jurassic World: World of Dinosaurs and Jurassic World: The Threatened Kingdom movies.

In the story, after a forced landing on Nublar Island, the user is taken to an abandoned research facility and must explore the deserted park, solving puzzles and avoiding encounters with ferocious dinosaurs, including velociraptors and the tyrannosaur.

5. Horizon Call of the Mountain

Horizon Call of the Mountain

Horizon Call of the Mountain is Guerrilla Games and Firesprite’s big release for PlayStation VR2 and is one of the most anticipated titles for the public. 6. Moss and Moss: Book II

Moss and Moss

Distributed by Polyarc since 2018, the Moss franchise is already highly acclaimed, with two games that follow the journey of Quill the mouse, who aims to end the rule of the Arcana and return peace to Moss. The series focuses on solving action-adventure puzzles that require creative solutions. Thus, it combines engaging characters, combat, and exploration with the advantages of virtual reality.

As well as Resident Evil Village, the game comes to the new PS VR2 headset on the device’s launch day. The edition features visual enhancements, tactile feedback, and adaptive trigger support, as well as tactile responses to sense attacks and movement.

7. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 – Retribution (Skydance Interactive) is the continuation of the story of the protagonist Turista, who follows her journey through New Orleans taken by zombies. In this sequel, the player must investigate the threats that have emerged in the city and confront Axeman and the Tower, preventing them from taking control. The title features several new locations, as well as weapons and equipment to help in the fight against the undead.

It is worth saying that the 3D audio helps create a feeling of actually being in a post-apocalyptic world. Another highlight is that the upgrade to the new version is free for owners of the original work on PS VR. The game is available on the PS Store.
