Poco F4: Features, Reviews, and Price

The successor to the most famous and best-selling mobile of POCO, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, is already here. The POCO F4 arrives to take a step forward in what the most specific users are looking for and offer a Qualcomm processor in a family that is gradually growing. It is presented as the bestseller, with a table of specifications of the most complete if we take into account its price. Now, will the Snapdragon 870 processor work for them again? We tell you all its data here.

Design Evolved Toward Premium

Although the POCO F family has that high-end touch, the POCO F3 lines could be improved. And this is demonstrated by the POCO F4 with a thinner finish. In elegance and thinness. They have achieved a thickness of 7.7 millimeters in an updated mobile with flat edges and a glossy finish. It is not mobile with particularly clean housing or that stands out. But at least it changes the camera module system and has a fairly colorful radial finish. By the way, it comes in black, green and gray.

Poco F4

Its weight is quite balanced. It weighs 195 grams, and a 6.67-inch panel is not bad at all. It does not slip in the hand, its flat sides do not detract from ergonomics, and manages to look like an elegant mobile. It seems that POCO has found a formula for those looking for simpler lines in a balanced phone.

What Does Not Evolve: Snapdragon 870 Processor

There are no complaints about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. It is an efficient brain in its tasks that has been demonstrated since last year that it can move almost everything easily in this mid-range. The only problem is that we are not used to a newer, better mobile repeating this component. It seems that the scarcity of chips and the availability of a solvent processor like this Snapdragon 870 have been key to reappear here as already happened in the POCO F3.

Poco F4

It is a processor with built-in 7 nanometers and capable of moving agile memories both RAM of type LPPDR5 and ROM in UFS 3.1 format. So there are not too many complaints about its solvency. It is also accompanied by a LiquidCool Technology 2.0 cooling system with graphene and a vapor chamber so that gamers do not suffer during their most intensive uses. No complaints, but no news or improvements either.

What Does Change: The Cameras

Poco F4

The section that improves is that of the cameras. And it does so with two substantial changes. On the one hand, the main sensor, which is now 64 megapixels captures more detail. On the other hand, is the issue of having optical image stabilization. A technology that allows correcting handshake and movement mechanically to save photos and, above all, video recording. With which more definition and less shake are achieved. Something that was quite criticized in the POCO F3.

It is accompanied by a secondary camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel sensor. And a third 2-megapixel camera with a macro lens. With which to capture wider scenes and also close details.

Also, Improved Battery Charge

Poco F4

Another key point on which the POCO F4 is supported is the battery. And is that its 4,500 mAh is well managed to offer good autonomy. Despite the generous screen that it carries. However, the best thing is that, if we run out of charge, POCO now includes fast charging of 67W of power. This means being able to charge the device to 100% of its capacity in just 38 minutes. Something that helps us to recharge hours of autonomy with just a few minutes of charging. And that can change the paradigm of users when it comes to charging the phone all night while they sleep. Although POCO maintains the battery protection mode in case it does.

Of course, Xiaomi ensures that in the POCO, and unless a regulation forces them, they will continue to include chargers adapted to enjoy this fast-charging power.

Large 120Hz AMOLED Screen

Poco F4

The panel also does not present too many novelties in this POCO F4. At least in terms of technology and size. We came across a 6.67-inch diagonal AMOLED con panel capable of displaying images at a maximum FullHD+ resolution of 2,400 x 1,080. This means having a 20:9 landscape format. And it is agile since it has up to a 120Hz refresh rate to display images.

What is interesting are all the different technologies and compatibilities it offers. Thus, we find support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, with which to enjoy the contents as they were created. According to its datasheet, it achieves a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits and good contrast. It is also agile to the touch thanks to its 360Hz touch sampling rate. Another nod to gamers.
