Screen and Design
The mobile phones have a similar plastic design and finish, and the same HD+ screen definition is considered basic. The panels, however, differ a little. While the LG K41S has a 6.55″ notch display, the Moto G8 adopts a hole to house the front camera and ends up looking more modern.
On the other hand, the Moto G8 is thicker and heavier than its rival. Besides, LG’s mobile phone features MIL-STD 810G certification, which offers better durability under extreme temperature conditions, in addition to humidity and even impacts from small heights. Mobile phones, however, are not resistant to water.
The LG 41S is sold in gray and black, while the Moto G8 is available in white or blue.
The LG K41S features a 13 MP main, ultra-wide 5 MP quad camera, 2 MP macro, and a 2 MP auxiliary sensor to capture depth in portrait mode. The Moto G8 has one less camera. Its triple system, however, includes 16 MP main sensors, plus 8 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP macro.
The settings, therefore, indicate that the Motorola smartphone tends to deliver more detailed photos, especially by day. The situation changes when analyzing the ability to shoot with a blurred background, since only the LG model has its lens for this purpose, leaving the Moto G8 only with blur via software.
Mobile phones have 8 MP front cameras and should not differ substantially in this respect.
Performance and Storage
The devices feature very similar processors, both octa-cores up to 2.0 GHz: MediaTek MT6762 on the LG K41S and Snapdragon 665 (Qualcomm) on the Moto G8. Although the chips suggest similar performance, the greater amount of RAM favors Motorola’s cell phone. With 4 GB, it tends to handle screen and apps transition better compared to the 3 GB of the LG K41S, so it should last longer before it starts slowing down.
LG’s mobile also brings half of the internal space, which is a problem for those who want to keep the phone for over a year. With only 32 GB, the device tends to be packed quickly even considering microSD support. However, besides being compatible with expansion, the Moto G8 brings double the native space, giving more security to users in the long term.
Both devices carry a 4,000 mAh battery that should last a full day of moderate use taking into account the simple hardware and screen configurations. The manufacturers, however, do not even mention an estimated runtime.
Although it was launched in 2020, LG K41S still brings the old Android 9 (Pie). The operating system is a generation behind Android 10 that comes in the Moto G8. Also, the Motorola mobile phone has a better chance of receiving Android 11. Among the advantages of this is lower vulnerability to known bugs, in addition to access to the latest software news, such as better battery management and greater privacy control.
Both mobile phones bring a digital reader on the back and similar connectivity settings. They feature Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, a USB-C port for charging, and headset input. Besides, both also do not offer NFC connectivity.
