Motorola today makes the global launch of the Edge 20 line, consisting of three phones with advanced technical data sheets: Motorola Edge 20, Motorola Edge 20 Pro, and Motorola Edge 20 Lite. The smartphones bring many of the features found in rivals offered by Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi. They also bet on the Ready For productivity platform that turns the phone into a computer.
“There are three versions so that a larger number of people can unleash their creativity and push their boundaries,” the company says in a statement. The line came about in April 2020 after they noticed a shortage of Motorola products in the premium category. At the time, the original Motorola Edge and the Motorola Edge Plus, a variant that gave way to the Pro, were announced.

The Motorola Edge 20 is the standard version of the line updated on Thursday. It features a 6.7-inch pOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) and a 144 Hz refresh rate, a feature that is well regarded by gamers, who find greater fluidity during gaming sessions.
It repeats the sober and elegant design of the original Motorola Edge. The manufacturer points out that it is one of the thinnest smartphones on the market, with a thickness of 6.99 mm and a 20:9 aspect ratio, a trademark of the company.
The photographic technology is provided by the 108 MP main camera (f/1.9), the 16 MP hybrid camera (ultra-wide + macro) (f/2.2), and the 8 MP telephoto lens (f/2.4). According to Motorola, the device achieves 3x optical zoom. It also takes 32 MP (f/2.2) selfies.
Its technical sheet includes 128 GB storage, Snapdragon 778G processor (up to 3.2 GHz), and 6 GB or 8 GB RAM. Computing applied to graphics is 55% faster than in the last generation.
The Motorola Edge 20 has a 4,000 mAh battery, a number below what we have currently seen on the market. Still, the company promises two days of autonomy in normal use conditions. This phone comes with 30-watt charging, with a promise of eight hours of charge after 10 minutes in the socket.

The most powerful version of this line, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro advances mainly in terms of photography. It repeats the Edge 20’s sensors but gains a periscopic camera that enables 5x optical zoom. The company explains that the component “bends” light by 90 degrees, resulting in a clearer and better-defined image. Huawei’s smartphones have adopted this technology for years.
The Edge 20 Pro has a 6.7-inch, Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) pOLED display compatible with the HDR10+ standard, which is adopted by several online content platforms and provides a visually richer experience filled with scene detail. Also present is the DCI-P3 standard, which refers to the range of colors that can be displayed by the smartphone – over 1 billion.
The Motorola Edge 20 Pro data-sheet brings 256 GB storage, Snapdragon 870 5G processor (up to 3.2 GHz), and 12 GB RAM. The 4,500 mAh battery promises “more than 30 hours of battery life.” This model is compatible with 30-watt charging.

Motorola has chosen to skimp on the Edge 20 Lite’s technical sheet, which should translate into a lower price point than today’s other launches. The premium phone has a 6.7-inch gOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) and a 90 Hz refresh rate.
It repeats the cameras from the Motorola Edge 20: 108 MP (f/1.9) main camera and 8 MP (f/2.2) hybrid (ultra-wide + macro) camera, plus a 2 MP (f/2.4) depth sensor to generate the desired blurry background in portraits. The front takes 32 MP (f/2.2) selfies.
Specs include MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor (up to 2.4 GHz) and 6 GB RAM. The battery jumps to 5,000 mAh and charging is compatible with a 30-watt charger.

- Dual Capture: This allows you to take photos or record videos with two cameras at the same time. Present in Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Pro.
- Super slow motion: records 960 frames per second, four times more than previous generations of Motorola phones. Present in the Edge 20 and Edge 20 Pro
