The Nova family this year seems to be still loaded despite the still atypical situation of Huawei due to the US blockade. We say this because after presenting the Huawei Nova 8 and 8 Pro and the Huawei Nova Pro 4G, now comes the Huawei Nova 8i.
Although this time they have not given it a surname that clarifies the connectivity, it is also a 4G mobile that fits in the modest mid-range. Although, it does not forgo features that we see in more expensive phones, such as fast charging at 66 watts.

Curved screen and a great design
Despite being the last to arrive (at least for now), it seems that this Nova 8i leaves aside the aesthetics that we saw in the first Nova 8 in terms of the rear. While the others adopted what we will see in the Huawei P50 and we have already seen in the Honor 50. The Huawei Nova 8i seems to inherit the features of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro with that circular module in the center of the top of this surface.

At the front, there is a very prominent screen thanks to having very small bezels, partly achieved by curving the panel. It is an LCD with 6.67 inches and FullHD+ resolution. The refresh rate remains at 60 hertz, but they have incorporated the 180 Hz touch refresh rate.

According to the brand, the screen occupies 94.7% of the entire front (with side edges of 1.3 millimeters and a more noticeable chin). In the upper right corner, there is an island reminiscent of the one on the Huawei P40 Pro that incorporated two front cameras, but in reality, there is only one (as we will see in the next section), leaving the other hole perhaps for some sensor (at the moment they have not indicated).
A chip with 4G and a very fast charge
The processor chosen for this new Huawei is the Snapdragon 662, accompanied by 8 GB and 128 GB of storage. This is, in fact, the only version available in terms of memories.
The battery is 4,300 mAh capacity, thus staying below 200 grams. Although what stands out is that **incorporates fast charging 66 watts, so the charging time promises to be only 28 minutes, achieving up to 60% charge in 17 minutes according to the brand.

In that camera module that we described before we see that there is not much surprise. A main camera with a 64-megapixel sensor, accompanied by the usual wide-angle 8-megapixel sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel portrait mode sensor. The front integrates, as far as we know, a 16-megapixel sensor.
Pricing and availability of the Huawei Nova 8i

As usual in these more discreet launches, the Huawei Nova 8i is currently only available in one country (Malaysia). The price is MYR 1,299 which is about $312.18 / €258.18 at the exchange rate for that single configuration of 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage that we saw, available in pink, blue, or black.
