Samsung has started to show its cards for 2021. The first to be announced is the most economical and simple mobiles from the South Korean manufacturer, the new Galaxy A12 and A02s. These are the successors of the Galaxy A11 and Galaxy A01 presented in April this year. And the truth is that although they are still quite modest devices in terms of features, they have made an important improvement in the battery by incorporating up to 5,000mAh with a 15W charge.
These are the characteristics of the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s, two mobile phones that will foreseeably mark the minimum of what is to be found in Samsung in its future mobiles. Unfortunately, even though the battery has been improved, we will still start from 32GB in the most basic model. Here is the rest of the specifications.

6.5″ screen and up to four cameras
The Samsung Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s share many of the same features, the main difference is the camera. Both have a 6.5-inch TFT panel with HD+ resolution and an ‘Infinity-V’ panel, concerning the water-drop-shaped notch located in the upper central area and where they hide the front camera.
Inside, they have an octa-core processor, with 2.3 and 1.8 GHz cores. As usual, Samsung does not specify which specific model it is, but according to GSMArena, it would be an Helio P35 in the Galaxy A12 and a Snapdragon 450 in the Galaxy A02s.
As for RAM, the Galaxy A12 will come in different versions, from 3GB to 6GB. There will also be three storage options: 32, 64, and 128GB, expandable via microSD up to 1TB. We would have liked the 2021 input range to start with 64GB, but we understand that this is a component where costs can be saved. For security, the fingerprint reader is placed on the side.
In the Galaxy A02s model, there will be a single version with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, also expandable by microSD card.
Where there has been a big jump is in the battery. The Galaxy A12 arrives with a 5,000 mAh and 15W charge. The Galaxy A02s also incorporates this 5,000 mAh with the same “fast” charge. This is an even more significant change since its previous generation started with 3,000mAh.
For the photographic section, the Galaxy A12 has a 48-megapixel main sensor, accompanied by a 13MP wide-angle and two extra cameras for the macro and bokeh effect. They are placed in a small box in the upper left corner and also represent a jump from the 13MP camera of the Galaxy A11. This is precisely the level where the Galaxy A02s stays, which incorporates a 13MP main sensor together with two 2-megapixel cameras. This time, placed in a vertical position.
