iPhone SE 2 is coming: Here is what to expect from the new Apple’s Device

Rumor has it that iPhone SE 2, Apple’s latest entry, may be on its way. The expectation is that the mobile phone will be announced on Wednesday (15) and will start to be commercialized on April 22nd, according to Jon Prosser, an analyst from the Frontpage Tech channel.

Called the iPhone 9 in previous rumors, the new smartphone should follow the same design as the iPhone SE, launched in 2016, featuring advanced specifications and design based on old models to lower the cost of the product. Here’s what to expect from the apple company’s new phone.

iPhone SE or iPhone 9?

Apple’s new phone should follow the iPhone 8 design, so it was called iPhone 9 in some leaks. However, the smartphone is expected to follow the same design as iPhone SE, i.e. a simpler model with modern specifications. Recent leaks show that the model is to be called iPhone SE 2020.

According to analysts, Apple’s goal in launching the new iPhone is to bring iOS 13 to more users, as the brand’s reports point out. As iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users can no longer upgrade their mobile phones to the new system, iPhone SE 2 would be an economically viable and modern version to replace the old models. With the addition of the A13 processor, the new phone would be able to last for years.

Similar design to the iPhone 8

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known for predicting Apple, iPhone SE 2 should have a similar design to iPhone 8, but with improved internal features. The phone is expected to have a 4.7-inch screen and 7.8 mm thick, which is 0.5 mm thicker than the iPhone 8.

Also, the Home button will replace the Face ID system, which is present since the launch of the iPhone X, leaving the device with a thicker frame. The button will have frosted glass on the back, similar to the iPhone 11 Pro design.

Regarding colors, the phone is expected to arrive in black, white, and red versions. Also, the smartphone can get five case models, including black and white silicone and red, black, and blue leather.

iPhone 8 Screen and Camera

Like iPhone 8, iPhone SE 2 is expected to display an LCD with a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. To reduce costs, the phone may not use OLED displays, which offer darker blacks and higher contrasts. These panels are found on the latest branded smartphones such as the iPhone XS Max and iPhone 11 Pro.

The photo set should also follow the iPhone 8 example, featuring a single camera on the rear 12 MP. However, it is not yet known if there will be features like Portrait Mode, which can be activated by software like the iPhone XR.

Datasheet of the latest iPhones

Following the original iPhone SE, iPhone SE 2 should be as powerful as the latest Apple devices. The launch is expected to come with the A13 Bionic processor, currently found on iPhones 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, plus 3GB RAM, 1GB less than on iPhone 11. The device is still expected to have three external storage options: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

The phone is also designed to be compatible with Apple Pay and Public Transport Express, which allows you to pay for public transit tickets on your phone. Also, it will be able to communicate by proximity (NFC), as well as the most modern iPhones.

iPhone SE may have a Plus model

Rumors have it that Apple may be working on a Plus model of the iPhone SE 2, but it’s not yet known if it will be announced this year. The phone, which may be called iPhone SE 2 Plus or iPhone 9 Plus, is expected to have a 5.5 or 6.1 inches LCD. The phone will also have the Home button and be sold at a more affordable price, probably for US$499.

Price and launch preview

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, said recently that factories have begun to return to production and that iPhone SE 2 has entered the final stage of validation. Still, the company remains with several stores closed around the world due to the new coronavirus pandemic.

The mobile phone, which was scheduled to be introduced in March, had to be postponed and now the launch is scheduled for this Wednesday (15). The smartphone’s commercialization should begin on April 22nd.

The price of the mobile phone is still unknown, but it is expected to be sold for prices starting at US$399, the same amount that the iPhone SE arrived in the United States in 2016.
