A phone for the metaverse. That’s what HTC is proposing with its new HTC Desire 22 Pro, a mid-range handset that has just been announced in Taiwan, HTC’s home country, and which includes an NFT with your purchase, which, by the way, has not been determined.
The handset incorporates some features related to the metaverse, NFTs, and cryptocurrencies. Among them are ViveVerse (to manage NFTs), Vive Market (to trade them), and Vive Vallet (to store cryptos in Ethereum and Polygon). A peculiar phone, to say the least. that we are going to know better below.

A simple mid-range focused on the metaverse, according to HTC
The HTC Desire 22 Pro is a mid-range smartphone that looks like one. It is available in two colors, bronze and black, both with a wave-shaped decoration on the back and a vertical camera module with three lenses. A simple rear, with no elements that particularly attract attention.
The fingerprint reader has been placed on the right edge, something that makes sense if we look at its screen. The HTC Desire 22 Pro incorporates a 6.6-inch IPS/LCD panel (although work is being done to integrate fingerprint readers on IPS panels, it is not yet possible). Its resolution is FullHD+ and its refresh rate reaches 120 Hz. The camera has been hidden in a hole in the upper left corner.

Under the hood, we have the Snapdragon 695 5G, an SoC from last year built in six nanometers that, although it incorporates 5G connectivity, does not allow recording in 4K. It is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The battery is 4,520 mAh and fast charging stays at 30W, although it also has wireless and reverse wireless charging.
The striking thing is in the software. Beyond being Android 12, the handset incorporates some metaverse-linked features, such as an NFTs wallet, an Ethereum and Polygon wallet, and a marketplace for trading NFTs. It also supports Viveverse, a system of virtual reality games, apps, and videos from HTC.
Otherwise, it is worth noting that it supports NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, and WiFi ac and that the cameras are fairly simple. Thus, we find a 64-megapixel main sensor, a five-megapixel wide-angle, and a two-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera is more striking thanks to its resolution of no less than 32 megapixels.
Pricing and Availability of the HTC Desire 22 Pro

The HTC Desire 22 Pro has been announced in Taiwan and, for the moment, we do not know if it will arrive in the international market. The HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G did, so maybe we will be surprised. In any case, in Taiwan, it costs 11,990 TWD, which at the exchange rate is about $402.
