The successors to the Redmi K30 are for now three, all with 5G and telephoto lens. They are also clones in terms of design, so it is time to look at the differences aspect by aspect.

Same Design for the three Models
Since these are so similar mobiles, it is worth describing them at the level of these features in common. Let’s start with the design, the back of these Redmi K40 is very reminiscent of the Xiaomi Mi 11, with the matte touch and gradients.
On the front is the front camera peeking through the screen positioned in the center. In all three models, there is a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a flat FullHD+ resolution.
Of course, in the three models, there is a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, which, based on what we have seen in MIUI 12. The screen does not integrate the fingerprint reader, as this is integrated into the power button.
The core is different, so are the megapixels
The Redmi K40 integrates the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. A processor that came to be something like the second chain for the high end, remaining as “Lite” of the Snapdragon 888, the processor that is featured on K40 Pro and K40 Pro Plus.
The RAM is the second difference that comes out of the components, although there is a somewhat strange distribution (and inconsistencies between the specifications and the purchase website). While The Redmi K40 and K40 Pro start from the 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the Redmi K40 Pro+ is somewhat more exclusive and is listed with a unique configuration of 12GB and 256GB of RAM, seeing that the K40 and K40 Pro+ reach that 12GB but not the K40 Pro. On the other hand, the Pro’s pre-order page lists a 6GB configuration for the Pro+ only, so we expect to see updates to the information in this regard.
They are again matched in both battery and fast charging, as well as software and connectivity. All three integrate a 4,520 mAh battery with 33W fast charging, boasting 5G and WiFi 6 support, as well as NFC. Neither features an audio minijack nor a microSD tray, of course.
One of the most important parts nowadays is the photographic capabilities and here we see the next level of distinction, although it only falls on the main camera. All three integrate three rear cameras and a front-facing one.
Main camera:
- Redmi K40: 48-megapixel sensor (1/2 inch) with f/1.8 aperture lens.
- Redmi K40 Pro: 64-megapixel sensor (1/1.7-inch) with f/1.9 aperture lens
- Redmi K40 Pro+: 108-megapixel (1/1.52-inch) sensor with f/1.8 aperture lens
- Ultra wide-angle: 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens
- Telephoto: 5-megapixel sensor
- Front camera: 20 megapixels
