We often talk about the Xiaomi mobile catalog, but the headphones are not far behind. The brand has been completing its showcase of completely wireless or TWS without neglecting the “pro” segment, and the latest in this regard are the expected Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro.
These are headphones with active noise cancellation, following the thread of the Xiaomi Mi Air 2 Pro that they presented in October 2020. With a design also more refined and fast charging, they become the flagships of their class for Xiaomi.

The promise of a very effective cancellation and up to 28 hours of playback
Unlike the Mi Air Pro, the FlipBuds Pro has more curved design lines, on the earcups and the case. In addition, the external bar (which incorporates, among other things, the microphone) is shorter, getting much closer in aesthetics to Apple’s AirPods Pro.
Mind you, the brand emphasizes the metalized finish of the product (or “mirrored”, as they describe it), which is also black. The carrying/charging case is somewhat more elongated than Apple’s, but also features the LED indicator on the front.
As for the technical features, we know that they incorporate an 11-millimeter diaphragm, like the Huawei FreeBuds Pro, and what stands out is the advanced noise cancellation. It comes from the hand of Qualcomm’s QCC5151 chip and, according to Xiaomi, is capable of reducing 99% of background noise.
There are three modes to choose from (daily, office, and flight) and according to Xiaomi, they can block up to 40 decibels of noise. In addition, what also stands out is the ability to be able to momentarily stop the cancellation to be able to hear other people and talk to them without removing the headphones.
They have touch controls for both audio playbacks and for choosing cancellation modes and answering calls. It will also activate the “transparency mode” to stop the cancellation, perhaps in the style of Sony’s headphones.
As for autonomy, Xiaomi speaks of up to 28 hours of autonomy in terms of the sum of the integrated battery and the extra contribution of the charging case. With the cancellation, the maximum is 22 hours, and talking about the performance of the battery without the case is about 5 hours with cancellation and 7 hours without it. The case, with USB and wireless charging, can give up to two hours of playback with as little as 5 minutes of charging, they claim.
Speaking of connectivity, the FlipBuds Pro features Bluetooth 5.2, in addition to Qualcomm aptX Adaptive. This promises low latency, especially for video playback and gaming.

The Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro has been presented in China and for now, there is no information about their release on the international market. They start at a price of about €103 at the exchange rate and are only available in the metallic black color described and shown.
