Last year they democratized 144 Hz. This year the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro – which lose the traditional “Mi” in between – lower that refresh rate a bit to 120 Hz, but above all, they want to convince us with their overwhelming charging speeds.
These are two twin phones that are identical in format, dimensions, and even a set of cameras. The differences are mainly in their processors and in those charging speeds, which are spectacular in the 11T Pro but are also fantastic in the 11T.

A design where the camera module remains bulky
The design of the new Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro continues to drink from their predecessors, but here the camera module changes noticeably. It is bulkier than that of the Xiaomi Mi 11 – which we found particularly discreet and elegant – for example, but it certainly does not reach the enormous dimensions of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.
On the front – flat screen, by the way, protected with a Gorilla Glass Victus – there are reduced but visible frames (especially in its small chin), while at the top there is a hole that houses the front camera.
On the back, as we said, that camera module dominates everything, and it is especially remarkable the thickness of a camera module that has two steps: the first for the area where the flash is located, and the second, even higher, to protect the three sensors.
That design is shared by both models, which have the same dimensions and an almost identical weight: the Xiaomi 11T is one gram lighter than its big brother.
This is about ultra-fast charging
The novelty of these two new Xiaomi flagships changes here in the way they differentiate the two models. In the past, we saw how usually manufacturers dedicated the Pro surname to mobiles with better cameras, but in these two smartphones, the set of cameras is the same.
Thus, there is a 108 Mpixel f/1.75 main sensor, accompanied by an 8 Mpixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle and a 5 Mpixel f/2.4 telephoto.
This trio is as we say the one used in both mobiles, but although the bet on rear cameras is identical in the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro, what does change is the front camera, which is 20 Mpixels f/2.5 in the Pro model and curiously 16 Mpixels f/2.45 in the normal model.
Both mobiles also share the same screen, with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel that supports refresh rates of up to 120 Hz. Here Xiaomi seems to have decided to dial down the revs a bit, as last year’s Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro went up to 144 Hz.
Where things change is in two relevant areas. The first, the chip used, which in the Xiaomi 11T is a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Ultra, and in the Xiaomi 11T Pro is a Snapdragon 888. The latter is therefore appreciably more powerful (we’ll see if it is also more efficient), and certainly poses that “performance plus” that will surely appeal to the most demanding users in this case.
The second is the fundamental argument of these new mobiles: their fast-charging system, which reaches up to 120 W in the Xiaomi 11T Pro. The Xiaomi 11T does not fall short with its charging at 67 watts, but logically the figure achieved by its big brother is especially striking. In both cases, the adapter to make the most of that facet is included.
It allows this model to charge its 5,000 mAh battery in just 17 minutes (36 minutes for the 67W 11T), according to those responsible, a dizzying time. This ultra-fast charging also does not punish the battery too severely, and Xiaomi assures that after 800 full charge cycles the battery will maintain at least 80% of its original charge.
Some more small differences may also be interesting for certain users: in the Xiaomi 11T Pro feature speakers calibrated by Harman Kardon, and also thanks to the Snapdragon 888 it is possible to record video in 8K, something that is not available in the Xiaomi 11T.
