Some brands have few devices, but all of them offer a very high level. One of them is Sonos, which now presents a new portable speaker. It is the new Sonos Roam, a wireless speaker with Bluetooth and WiFi that takes some of the features of the Sonos Move and replicates them in a lighter and more mobile body.

The Sonos Roam is also the most economical speaker of the company, characterized by offering products normally located in the high end. A speaker compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple AirPlay 2 and has a water and dust resistant body.

Sonos Roam

We have a speaker weighing about 430 grams, with a cylindrical format and a grid of small holes similar to that available in other products of the company. Inside are hidden two-class H amplifiers and a mid-woofer for mid and bass tones.

The Sonos Roam is designed to be listened to both vertically and horizontally. The speaker is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance, thanks to silicone covers and shockproof physical buttons.

In terms of battery life, the Sonos Roam promises up to 10 hours of continuous playback on a single charge and up to 10 days of standby time. To recharge, Sonos offers a custom Qi magnetic wireless charger that will be sold separately or a USB-C port for traditional charging.

Sonos Roam

This is a speaker that combines WiFi, for when we are at home, with Bluetooth, for when we want to take it outside. Additionally, the speaker itself is switchable between the two connections.

On the top are physical buttons for playback control, volume, and a button for the ‘Sound Swap’ function that allows you to switch the music to the nearest speaker. A function designed to improve integration with other Sonos speakers that may be at home.

Sonos offers compatibility with all kinds of apps and streaming services, in addition to its own Sonos Radio service. It is also compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple AirPlay 2.

Sonos Roam

The Sonos Roam uses the ‘Automatic Trueplay’ technology to adjust the sound depending on the space where it is located and the orientation. A tool complemented by a far-field microphone with background noise cancellation to improve the clarity of voices.
