Full-Array and HDR 2000

QLED Q800T

The new Samsung QLED Q800T has 8K Real resolution. What exactly does this mean? It means that your screen offers a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels.

In addition to 8K resolution, the Q800T is equipped with a Direct Full Array Elite lighting system. Although the manufacturer never specifies the number of zones in their different lighting systems, we understand that the Elite is the best in the range.

Just as the Korean manufacturer uses its best lighting system, it also increases the maximum brightness of the HDR system. Specifically, the Q800T uses an HDR 2000 system, which improves the color intensity and sharpness even in dark scenes. Of course, the Q800T supports the HDR10+ dynamic HDR system.

Furthermore, the Samsung QLED Q800T features the manufacturer’s best technology. It is equipped with Quantum Dots, which allow it to achieve 100% color volume reproduction. Also, the Quantum Processor 8K uses Artificial Intelligence to transform and improve the sound and image quality, pixel by pixel, regardless of the source.

On the other hand, the new Samsung 8K TV has a system that adjusts the brightness and intensity of the image by detecting variations in lighting, adapting to the type of scene and the brightness of the room. All this thanks to Artificial Intelligence.

And bearing in mind that 8K televisions are generally quite large, they must have a system that allows maximum quality to be obtained from any angle. The Q800T is equipped with Ultra Viewing Angle technology, which maintains the purity and intensity of the colors no matter where you’re sitting.

Cinema Sound to Accompany the Videos

Although it is very likely that if you buy this TV you have or plan to buy a good sound system, you may not always want to have it connected.

That’s why this year Samsung has focused a lot of its efforts on the sound side of high-end TVs. The Samsung QLED Q800T features Object Tracking Sound+ (OTS+), a system that uses Artificial Intelligence to reproduce sound only at the exact location where the action takes place.

Besides, this model has a sound system of no less than 4.2.2 channels. In other words, it is equipped with two upper speakers. Using the Q Symphony function you can combine the two top speakers of the TV with the front, side and top fire speakers of a soundbar to create a better surround sound experience.

It also features Active Voice Amplifier, a new system capable of adjusting the volume when it detects any ambient sound by amplifying the voices in the scene so that the conversation is transmitted more clearly.

Beautiful Design and Very Smart TV

Q800T

Samsung has been applying a very clear design to its televisions for some years now. The Korean manufacturer’s idea is to make its screens look sleek and stylish so that the movie experience will be as sublime as possible. This is why they have very slim stands and narrow frames around the screen.

As for the Smart system, Samsung continues to rely on Tizen. And that’s not surprising, because Samsung’s system has established itself as one of the best in the market.

It has a Universal Guide that allows us to access all kinds of content quickly. Besides, with the One Remote Control, you can control almost any device and have it identified in your input panel.

This year Samsung TVs include the Multi View function. This consists of dividing the TV screen into two and projecting our mobile image onto it. This allows us to see two images at once and not miss anything that interests us.

On the other hand, the Q800T has Google Assitant, Bixby and Alexa voice assistants integrated into the TV. And there’s no lack of SmartThings, which we can use to connect to IoT devices and sensors to do things like turn on the lights, check what’s inside our fridge or even start the washing machine directly from the TV.

Price and Availability

The Samsung QLED Q800T is one of Samsung’s best TVs for 2020, so it’s not a cheap TV. But its price is quite tight considering that it’s a model with 8K resolution, a very new technology.

This year we can get the QLED Q800T in 55, 65, 75 and 82 inches. However, of the 55-inch model, we still don’t know the price. We do know the price of the larger models, which will be £3999/$3500 for the 65-inch model, £5499/$5000 for the 75-inch model and £6999/$6500 for the 82-inch model. The three models are available on Amazon.
