Something happens when we have no news from Realme for a long time, and what happens is that they are preparing multiple launches. So, after conveniently announcing the arrival of the Realme Pad, they have also presented the new Realme 8i and Realme 8s 5G.
Two mobiles are placed in the mid-range, although with quite a few differences in their features. The Realme 8i follows Realme 7i and the Realme 8s is more in line with the Realme 8 5G, also presented this year.

Realme 8s 5G
The design of this phone is quite reminiscent of the Realme 8 5G for its edges, finishes, and camera module. It is a mobile that shows several of the current trends such as colored reflections on the back and less curved angles, with the front camera in a hole in the screen.
Speaking of the panel, there is a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with FullHD+ resolution. Perhaps one of its strengths is that it has refresh rates and touch sampling of 90 Hz and 180 Hz.
It also features the Dimensity 810 from MediaTek, a 6-nanometer processor that has barely been introduced for a month. It has variants from 6 GB of RAM, and in the tray for its two SIMs, there is space for a MicroSD (to have up to 1 TB of storage).
The battery is 5,000 mAH, with fast charging up to 33 watts. It is a mobile that has WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and an audio minijack.
At the camera level, it boasts of a triple camera with the main sensor, a macro, and a monochrome sensor, being as follows:
- 64-megapixel main sensor with f/1.8 aperture lens.
- 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture lens.
- 2-megapixel white monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture lens.
- 16-megapixel front-facing 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.1 aperture lens.
Realme 8i
The design of the Realme 8i leaves behind the aesthetics in the Realme 7i and is much more similar to the new Realme 8s. Although in this case, the back is glossy, not matte as in the previous one. The front camera also peeks through a hole through the screen, with some chin in the frame.
This is a somewhat less ambitious mobile than the previous one, but still maintains the FullHD+ resolution in its 6.6-inch LCD panel. However, reaching up to 120 Hz in its refresh rate (and also touch response rate of 180 Hz).
Also recently introduced, the Realme 8i integrates the MediaTek Helio G96. A chip that allows this refresh rate and the most powerful Helio G to date. It is accompanied by 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage.
The battery is 5,000 mAh and supports fast-charging up to 18W. It also arrives with Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 and the fingerprint reader on the side.
As for the cameras, we see that again the option is a triple camera with a higher resolution sensor and some secondary cameras:
- 50-megapixel main sensor and lens with f/1.8 aperture.
- 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture lens.
- 2-megapixel white monochrome sensor and f/2.4 aperture lens.
- 16-megapixel front-facing 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.5 aperture lens.
Pricing and Availability of the Realme 8s 5G and Realme 8i
For now, the new Realme has been presented in India and has not commented anything about their release in other markets, although by precedent it is likely that they would arrive later. This will be pending confirmation, for now, we can indicate the starting prices:
- Realme 8s 5G 6 GB + 128 GB: 17,999 rupees, about €207 at the exchange rate.
- Realme 8s 5G 8 GB + 128 GB: 19,999 rupees, about €230 at the exchange rate.
- Realme 8i 4 + 64 GB: 13,999 Indian rupees, about €161 at the exchange rate.
- Realme 8i 6 + 128 GB: 15,999 Indian rupees, about €183 at the exchange rate.
