Realme 8 Pro: Features, Reviews, and Prices

Realme has been anticipating that March 24, was going to be the day when we would fully know the Realme 8 Pro. A mid-range mobile that is the successor to the Realme 7 Pro and keeps alive the flame of the mid-range with 4G.

It does so by repeating the processor and some aspects that we will now see concerning its predecessor, but also welcoming the 108 megapixels in the brand’s phones. Thus, this sensor is introduced in the family at least starting with the mid-range and yes, with a redesign of the module and the entire mobile that does not go unnoticed.

Proper and special design

Realme backs have gone from conforming to trends to creating their own. The brand’s trademark is becoming more and more defined with that slogan occupying a large part of the back and, in this case, with a little discreet module that we already saw in that presentation preview.

In this case, there is a gradient of the same tone with an almost stony finish thanks to that kind of glitter that remains under the letters and all over the surface. Although what stands out about it is its lightweight we can already say that 176 grams for a diagonal of 6.4 inches do not look bad at all.

This display is a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED FullHD+ panel, which while maintaining the refresh rate at 60 Hz does feature a touch sampling rate of up to 180 Hz. Also, the maximum brightness is up to 1,000 nits and integrates the fingerprint reader.

If you like the performance the way it is, don’t touch it

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G performed well in the Realme 7 Pro according to the brand itself, so the Realme 8 Pro has inherited it. A chip that Qualcomm introduced in 2020 to give more options with 4G in the mid-range and that is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage with a microSD tray.

It has Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and an audio minijack. It comes with the latest version of its software, Realme UI 2.0, which is based on Android 11.

In terms of autonomy, we again see 4,500 mAh which is not bad at all, although what is striking is that 50 W Fast Charge that promises charges in less than an hour, in just 47 minutes.

Fashionable in terms of photography

The 108 megapixels come to Realme with this mobile, as we said at the beginning. But of course, they were not going to arrive alone, hand in hand they bring a quadruple rear camera, with a front that peeks through that hole in the screen that we have seen, having the following configuration:

  • Main camera with 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor (1/1.52-inch) with 6P lens with f/1.88 aperture and PDAF.
  • Ultra wide-angle with an 8-megapixel sensor and 5P lens with f/2.25 aperture and 119-degree field of view.
  • Macro with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel sensor.
  • 2-megapixel monochrome sensor and f/2.4 aperture lens.
  • Front camera with a 16-megapixel sensor (Sony IMX471) and 5P lens with f/2.45 aperture.

Realme 8 Pro

As for the video, the Realme 8 Pro can record in the standard video up to 4K at 30 fps, debuting functions such as time-lapse for long exposures, as well as tilt-shift for time-lapse. They do not leave out the intervention of artificial intelligence for extra modes and effects that can be added by the user, in addition to the long exposure modes that the brand has been adding for some time and that is not very common.
