Realme 7 5G: Features, Reviews, and Price

Realme is establishing itself as one of the most prolific brands of the year and keeps giving us reasons to believe so. After seeing the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro in its mid-range, the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro and the Realme 7X and 7X Pro, a new member of the series has now arrived: the new Realme 7 5G.

This is a new mid-range option that comes to add support for 5G in this large line of Realme. A twin of the Realme 7 with a new design and MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U processor, let’s see what else it has to offer.

A Redesigned Model

Realme 7 5G

Being a revitalized version of its predecessor, perhaps the move was to maintain the design lines. We can tell that because the rear imitates the double finish found in the Realme 7, although the module that houses the four rear cameras is more similar to that of the Realme 7 Pro.

On the front side, there is a hole in the upper left corner where the camera is located, and the screen fits into thinner frames at the top and side edges than at the bottom.

The edge has a matte finish and the physical buttons, as well as the USB-C port and the 3.5-millimeter mini-jack at the bottom. This is also where the fingerprint reader is located, which is not integrated into the screen as it was in its predecessors.

120 Hertz in a familiar iPS panel

A hybrid option between the 7 and the 7 Pro, in this case, the AMOLED is not used, unlike the 7 Pro, but the refreshment rate has been increased compared to the 7. Thus, what is seen is a 6.5-inch LCD IPS panel with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.

The FullHD+ resolution is retained and the screen ratio is 20:9. According to Realme, the screen takes advantage of 90.5% of the front.

5G Connectivity

5G Connectivity

As for the processor, this is one of the first mobiles to include this Dimensity 800U from MediaTek, a mid-range processor that carries the 5G modem (the key difference between this mobile and its “families”). There is a 6 and 8 GB RAM option (LPDDR4X) and a single 128 GB storage option (UFS 2.1), with the possible expansion through microSD (or double SIM).

The battery of the Realme 7 5G is 5,000 mAh, thus inheriting the highest capacity among its direct predecessors. As a plus, it also has a fast Dart charge at 30 W, which promises a good autonomy and a charge of little time, although we will see this in the analysis.

Speaking of cameras, there are four in the back, which have a combination in a more than familiar: main sensor, wide-angle lens, and fill sensors. Specifically, we see the following:

  • The main camera of 48 megapixels. Samsung S5KGM1ST 1/1.73″ with f/1.8 aperture and 0.8 um size for each pixel.
  • 8-megapixel wide-angle. f/2.3 aperture and 119° amplitude.
  • 2-megapixel macro. 2.4 cm focus and f/2.4 aperture
  • 2-megapixel monochrome. f/2.4 aperture.
  • 16-megapixel front camera f/2.1 aperture and 79.3° wide

Price and Availability of the Realme 7 5G

One of the claims of this Realme can be its starting price because it is one of the lowest prices we have seen for a medium-range with 5G in Europe. The Realme 7 5G starts at $279, although as a launch offer for Black Friday it will be for $229 until November 30th exclusively on Amazon.

The mobile will be available for purchase from today, November 19th, and will be available in a single color (blue) for the time being.
