OPPO has just presented in China its new batch of premium mid-range and high-end devices, the OPPO Reno6. The company has presented not one or two, but three devices, each one more powerful than the last. Thus, the new family of phones is composed of the OPPO Reno6, OPPO Reno6 Pro, and OPPO Reno6 Pro+.
Both devices are very similar on the outside and at first glance (although there are details). The differences are inside (processor, mainly) and in the photographic section, as we will see now. Before getting to know them better, it is worth noting that the devices have been presented in China and that, for now, nothing is known about their global availability.

Very similar at first glance

As we can see, all three devices are quite similar to each other. They all share that glossy finish and, except for slight variations in size and bezels, very similar on the back. The back of the devices is, leaving the glossy finish aside, very simple. We only find the camera module (three or four, depending on the device) and nothing more, since the fingerprint reader has been placed under the screen.
And speaking of the screen, the three OPPO Reno6 mount OLED panels with FullHD+ resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels), 90 Hz refresh rate, and 180 Hz touch refresh rate. They reproduce a wide spectrum of the DCI-P3 color space, exceed 400 pixels per inch in all cases, and are protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The main difference is in the side bezels. Why? Because while the OPPO Reno6 has smooth bezels (slightly reminiscent of the iPhone 12), the OPPO Reno6 Pro and Pro+ have a moderate curvature whose explication is simple: while the display of the base model is flat, that of its siblings is curved.
But (somewhat) different on the inside

Where are the differences? The first of them in the processor. The OPPO Reno6 is the first mobile to mount the new MediaTek Dimensity 900, a premium mid-range SoC recently introduced by MediaTek. Its big brother, the OPPO Reno6 Pro, mounts a MediaTek Dimensity 1200, which we are already familiar with, while the Pro+ model is the only one to feature a Qualcomm SoC. Specifically, the Snapdragon 870, a high-end processor somewhere between the Snapdragon 865 and the Snapdragon 888.
The rest of the engine components remain the same. That way, the three models mount between eight and 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and between 128 and 256 GB of non-expandable internal storage. There is one detail worth noting, and that is that the two Pro siblings have UFS 3.1 memories and not UFS 2.1, so they are significantly faster.
The battery is 4,300 mAh in the OPPO Reno6 and 4,500 mAh in the OPPO Reno6 Pro and Reno6 Pro+. There should not be a substantial difference in the final autonomy, but a matter of waiting to find out for sure. All three devices share the fast charging technology, which amounts to 65W. The same goes for the operating system, which is Android 11 with ColorOS 11.3, and connectivity: all are compatible with 5G networks.
Three camera configurations

Let’s finish by reviewing the photographic section. Unlike in other sections, in this one, we have three configurations ranging from more to fewer options. The OPPO Reno6 has a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B main sensor, an eight-megapixel Sony IMX355 wide-angle, and a two-megapixel OmniVision OV02B10 macro. No surprises there, it’s a familiar configuration.
Then we have the OPPO Reno6 Pro, which mounts the same batch of sensors but adds a two-megapixel monochrome sensor. And finally, we have the OPPO Reno6 Pro+, which mounts a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main sensor with OIS, a 16-megapixel Sony IMX481 wide-angle, a 13-megapixel Samsung S5K3M5 telephoto (with optical zoom to be determined), and a two-megapixel OV02B10-A25A macro.
The more powerful model drops the monochrome and goes for a telephoto. The resolution of the front camera is the same in the three mobiles: 32 megapixels.
