This is a smartwatch with a circular casing, stainless steel frame, and 2.5D curved glass designed to offer the thinnest and most seamless look possible. A sporty aesthetic with AMOLED screen and IP68 resistance
The OnePlus Watch arrives intending to become an accessory for all audiences. For this reason, its price is relatively moderate and offers a circular design in an attempt to appear like a traditional watch.
The initial model that will be offered will have a sportier look, while later another OnePlus Watch with more classic touches will arrive. The smartwatch is available in a single size of 46 mm, with silicone straps that can be exchanged for other standard sizes.
In the special edition with cobalt, the OnePlus Watch will offer a leather strap for a more elegant and less sporty touch. In both models, there will be a stainless steel frame along with a 2.5D curved glass and a shiny pattern on the bezel. As OnePlus explains, it features “a smooth arc on the side of the case that is hand-polished with more than 20 treatments for a refined finish.”
The display of choice is a 1.39-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels and a density of about 326 PPI.
The device is compatible with Android and iOS mobiles, although it does not come with Wear OS, but an adapted RTOS version for this watch. Inside we have 4 GB of storage, of which 2 GB will be free to include more than 500 songs.
At the level of customization, OnePlus will initially offer up to 50 different dials, plus the possibility of putting your photos from the gallery.
As in other smartwatches, the OnePlus Watch includes metrics such as pulse, distance, calories, speed, and SWOLF efficiency for swimmers. This is because it withstands up to 5 ATM and has IP68 water resistance certification. GPS, stress detection, heart rate monitoring, and blood oxygen measurement are also included.
OnePlus offers up to 110 types of workouts, including workout detection and reminders to avoid sedentary lifestyles. Different alerts and measurements can be controlled through the OnePlus Health app.
The first OnePlus watch promises an autonomy of up to two weeks of average use thanks to its 402 mAh battery. Although as the company explains, with 5 minutes of charging the watch will get autonomy for a day or a week if we charge it for 20 minutes.
Price and Availability of the OnePlus Watch
The new OnePlus Watch will be available in the United States and Europe initially in two colors: silver or black. A special edition with a leather strap will arrive later. Its official price is $159 and its availability will be announced in the coming weeks.
