OLED Screen is the Main Attraction
Not long ago, mid-range mobile phones had to be fitted with IPS panels, while AMOLED and OLED technology was reserved for high-end devices. Huawei wanted to integrate a 6.3-inch panel with OLED technology into the Huawei P Smart S. This decision ensures a good quality window into the digital world and the enjoyment of viewing multimedia content. However, the resolution is conservative: Full HD+. In addition, on this screen there are no risky proposals to camouflage the camera, instead, they have opted for a notch in the shape of a drop.
The front is in the middle, the side frames have been reduced and the only one that stands out for its thickness is the lower one. In addition, the fingerprint reader is integrated into this front. It is located under the screen and is optical so it needs to be illuminated when unlocking. If you go to the back, you will find glass with a glossy finish. There is not much to highlight from this back, everything is where it needs to be. The module that houses the three cameras is located on the upper left side. The metal sides house the button panel and the bottom side has the connectors for charging (USB C) and the port for headphones.
Kirin 710F and 4GB RAM
By separating the glass and metal sandwich that forms the Huawei P Smart S, we will be faced with an interior in which the center of operations is the Kirin 710F processor along with 4GB of RAM and 128GB for storage. The only detail that may surprise users is that this storage is expandable via NM Card and not the traditional microSD cards. What we are clear about is that these are more than good technical specifications for a device of its range. In addition, Huawei does not forget autonomy and this is marked by a 4,000mAh battery with a 10W charge.
As for connectivity, it has everything you’d expect: NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 4G, and LTE. The only absence is the 5G, but we already know that if you want that connectivity you have to go to other devices such as the Huawei P40 Lite 5G. When it comes to software, the Huawei P Smart S comes with Android 10 under EMUI 10.1 and without Google services pre-installed.
Tripple Back Camera
Huawei relies on cameras and the proof of this is its flagship terminals. However, the rest of the range is not forgotten. The Huawei P Smart S lands with a triple camera, the main one being 48 megapixels with a focal aperture of f/1.8. The secondary lens is intended for wide-angle, 8 megapixels, and has 120 degrees of amplitude, its focal aperture is f/2.4. The third and last camera is a 2-megapixel sensor designed for photography with a blur effect. The front camera has a 16-megapixel sensor and its focal aperture is f/2.0.
Price and Availability of Huawei P Smart S
The Huawei P Smart S has been sighted on Italian soil, so it will most likely set foot on most countries soon. Meanwhile, we can get an idea of its price: 250 euros for the only version available (4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage). It comes to trying to make a hole in a very competitive range and it does it without Google’s services, we can only wait to see if users commit to this device.
