Huawei never stops releasing new devices, the U.S. blockade doesn’t prevent them from announcing devices. However, they will not be able to use Google services. In any case, the Asian firm has just introduced two new smartphones: Huawei Nova 6 and 6 5G. They are the same mobile, but the second has 5G connectivity as its flagship, hence its last mark. Both come to augment the premium mid-range, but with a very uncertain future. We don’t know of their arrival in Europe, nor in other countries, but in the meantime let’s enjoy their features.

Devices with Good Design
The best of both worlds, it seems that the Huawei Nova 6 and 6 5G have mixed the Huawei P30 Pro rear and the Honor terminals front. The front has no notch, instead, it features a hole that houses two cameras. This hole is integrated with a 6.57-inch screen, Full HD+ resolution, and IPS technology. No AMOLED technology, but at least we have an elongated format (20:9). This will make it more comfortable to use with one hand, despite the size of your screen. The comfort of use is also helped by its construction in glass and metal, the rear is curved to offer better ergonomics.
The rear houses one of the big attractions of both devices: the cameras. There are 3 cameras and they are set up in the same way as Huawei P30 Pro. Apart from the cameras, there are the brand logo and some designs with bright colors. At the moment they are available in four colors: red, blue, black and purple. All colors have glossy finishes, which also reflect light and offer striking flashes. As for weight and dimensions, the model with 5G connectivity is 30 grams heavier and 0.3 millimeters thicker. The increase in weight is justified by the module dedicated to offering 5G.
Kirin 990 and 5G Connectivity but without Google Services
There are Kirin 990 installed on both devices. The storage and RAM are 128GB and 8GB respectively, while the Huawei Nova 6 5G reaches 256GB of storage, but retaining the same RAM. The battery autonomy is 4,100 mAh and 4,200 mAh for the 5G connectivity version. All these features will offer a more than solvent experience in most situations. The problem is what was said at the beginning, they do not integrate Google services and so downloading commonly used applications will be complicated, but not impossible.
The Huawei Nova 6 and 6 5G arrive with all the connectivity expected: Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi, Dual GPS, USB 3.1, and NFC. Also, they incorporate a liquid cooling system that will keep temperatures at bay. It will be useful when we plug in the charger, which comes with a quick charge of 40W. With this fast charge, Huawei has commented that it will be possible to obtain almost 50% of the capacity of the battery in less than an hour and the full charge will be about an hour and a half.
Five Cameras: Three Main Cameras and Two Front Cameras
Huawei’s photography section is getting better and better, it’s not just its high ranges that have the latest of the latest. In these devices, there are two cameras at the front: 32 and 8-megapixel cameras. The first one is the conventional one, while the second one is a wide-angle for group photos or when we want to put more objects inside the frame. The three rear cameras also have different functionalities, the main camera is 40 megapixels and focal 1.8. The secondary camera sensor is for zooming, it is an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with a possibility of 3 optical magnifications. The third and last is an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera that performs the same function as the one at the front.
Price and Availability
The arrival of these devices is uncertain. The U.S. ban on Huawei is playing against it, but the company keeps up the pace and pulls out the chest. The Huawei Nova 6 and 6 5G are intended to augment the premium mid-range, their prices are conversions so you have to take them with caution. The Nova 6 of 8GB and 128GB would be about 3,199 yuan ($454), Nova 6 5G with the same configuration reaches up to 3,799 yuan ($540) and the Nova 6 5G of 8GB and 256GB goes up to 4,199 yuan ($595).
