Huawei has just launched a very peculiar headset, the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick. As the name suggests, they are headphones whose charging case is inspired by the classic lipsticks. They are red in color and promise active noise cancellation, even if they are of open design.
The headphones have appeared on the Huawei Global website and, for the moment, there is no word on their price or availability in some countries. We will be pending to update in case they arrive. Having made the introductions, let’s get to know them better.

What is most striking about these Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick is its case. It is a rather large and rather heavy case, at over 84 grams without the earbuds. The case is made of polished stainless steel to give it a smoother feel. The finish is black and gold, inspired by luxury, but the earcups are red.
As far as the earphones themselves are concerned, they share specifications with the Huawei FreeBuds 4. Both have a 14.3-millimeter driver, 30 mAh battery, a weight of 4.1 grams, and the same dimensions. At least on paper, they appear to be the same headphones.
They are open design, so they don’t have silicone rubber bands to fit in the ear canals, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have active noise cancellation. They do, and they have the same adaptive fit technology as the FreeBuds 4 (basically, they analyze the shape of your ear to adapt the sound and noise cancellation).
According to the company, the headphones have a latency of 90 milliseconds, something intended for gaming and watching movies, and are capable of recording voice at 48 kHz on some Huawei devices. In a nutshell, they’re just like the FreeBuds 4, but with a different case.
In terms of autonomy, the same as the FreeBuds 4. Each headset has a 30 mAh battery capable of reaching 2.5 hours of continuous playback with ANC enabled (rises to four hours if disabled). The case, meanwhile, incorporates 410 mAh of battery and promises up to 14 hours with ANC.
Pricing and Availability of the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick
The Huawei FreeBuds Lipsticks have appeared on Huawei’s global website but, for now, it is not known whether or not they will arrive in some countries. What we do know is that they are available in a single color: gold and black case and red earphones. Their price has not been disclosed.
