How Do I Make Money With My TikTok Account in 2023?

In just over two years, TikTok has managed to overtake Instagram in terms of the number of users. The transfer of followers from one application to another is also noticeable with the transfer of influencers. TikTok’s biggest and main advantage over Instagram has to do with the possibility of monetizing content directly, without intermediaries or brands in between. But how many followers do you need to earn money on TikTok? What are the requirements to get paid on TikTok? How many followers do you need to get paid on TikTok? Let’s see.

With How Many Followers Can You Earn in 2023?

TikTok

The requirements that TikTok imposes to monetize videos in the application vary over time. This decision responds to the constant changes that the social network introduces to highlight the content of profiles with low reach or that do not have such a high number of followers. And if in the past only 1,500 or 10,000 followers were required to earn money with TikTok, today this figure has been multiplied by 1,000 after the latest update of the terms and conditions of use of the application, which we can access through this link.

Based on the latest update, the requirements introduced by TikTok state the following:

  • Accumulate more than 100,000 followers.
  • Accumulate more than 100,000 views in the last 30 days.
  • Post original content in accordance with TikTok’s community standards.
  • Be over 18 years old.

Once all these requirements have been met, the application itself will enable an option that will allow you to apply to the Creators Fund program. The process to access this program is detailed below.

How to Get into the TikTok Creators’ Fund

Tiktok

If you meet the requirements we have just mentioned, the process to apply to the Fund for Creators is very simple. To do so, you must first convert your account to Creator to enable the tools that TikTok makes available to content creators.

In this case, the process is as simple as going to the Profile tab in the bottom bar and clicking on the three dots shown in the upper right corner. Once inside, click on the Manage Account section and then on Switch to Pro account. After selecting the category that corresponds to the content you share on TikTok (food, electronics, sports, etc.), the application will convert your profile into a Creator.

With the options for creators active, then click on the Creator section and finally on Background for TikTok creators. The application will automatically check if the requirements to access the program are met. If so, the application will request a series of legal data in order to proceed with the payments and the invoicing of the service: name and surname, fiscal address, VAT number or corresponding code, taxable or active VAT subject, and so on.

If the request is denied, you will be able to access it again after 30 days from the beginning. It should be noted that TikTok reserves the right to expel any creator who fails to comply with the rules of use of the community even if the user in question has been previously accepted in the Creators Fund program.

How Much TikTok Pays for Followers In 2023?

As is the case with YouTube, TikTok does not pay its creators based on the number of followers, but on the impact generated by the advertising included in the videos. Since the price of the ads depends on aspects such as the duration of the advertising space, geographic location, or user interaction, there is no formula for calculating the CPM (Cost Per Thousand impressions) in the application, although some studies speak of an average of between $2 and $3 per 100,000 reproductions. For videos with 1,000,000 views, you would get a profit of between $20 and $30 based on the above ratio, although this may vary depending on the country and time of year. In the United States, England, and Canada, the price of ads is generally higher than in other countries. The same is true for some special times of the year, such as Christmas or Black Friday itself.

Another way to calculate the monetization of a given profile is to resort to third-party tools, such as Exolyt. This page allows users to obtain a weighted average of the monetization of any TikTok profile based on the number of video views. Simply enter the user name in the search engine to calculate the estimated earnings per video, as shown in the screenshot below.

The tool also allows users to analyze the different statistics of the profiles to obtain information such as the number of likes per video or the interaction that users have with the profile they have entered, although they will have to register beforehand.
