Dell Alienware m15 and m17 R4
The new Alienware m15 and m17 R4 are, according to Dell, the brand’s thinnest laptops. They measure respectively 19.7 and 22 millimeters, with a weight of 2.11 kilograms for the m15 and 2.5 kilograms for the m17.
As for the dimensions, one of the main reasons for the difference is the different diagonals we see in each one. As it lets intuit its surname, the m15 has a 15 inches screen with a resolution to choose between FullHD and 4K, accordingly, we will have a maximum refresh rate of 300 or 60 hertz respectively.
The m17 integrates a 17.3-inch screen with options to choose from also in resolution and refreshment. The version with FullHD resolution gives the option to select 144 or 360 Hz, while the 4K screen is in the usual 60 Hz. So for users who value more the extra fluidity of a higher refresh rate, the best option will be FullHD resolution on either model.
In its core, there are Intel Core i7-10870H or Intel Core i9-10980HK processors in both cases, with 8 GB RAM base memory that can be increased to 16 and 32 GB (always DDR4 at 2.933 MHz). For the graphics, they have the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series and can have up to 4 TB of internal storage, all with the intention that the computers do not fall short of the requirements for complex games such as ‘Cyberpunk 2077’.
In both sizes, there are 68 Wh batteries, but they do not tell us the approximate battery life calculation (which will also depend on the screen and the frequency that is adjusted, as well as the user). They also have ventilation with a steam chamber and the m17 R4 has Alienware Cryo-Tech’s heat dissipation technology.
In terms of input and output ports, both Alienware has RJ-45, two USB Type-A 3.2 (1st generation), minijack, microSD reader, Thunderbolt 3, Mini-Display Port 1.4, and an HDMI 2.1. The latter offers resolutions of up to 4K at 120 Hz on an external monitor.
Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10
The Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10 takes the gaming power in a desktop tower format but is equally well suited for hours of powerful gaming or demanding applications such as those required in content creation. For this, they have incorporated the latest AMD Ryzen 5000 Series desktop processors and AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics, with the option of using the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series as well.
One thing that stands out about this desktop is that being a format that is sometimes chosen for its versatility and upgradeability from a laptop, Aurora’s chassis is upgradeable without tools. Interesting if we want to take it to the maximum, knowing that it supports up to 128 GB of dual-channel HyperX FURY DDR4 RAM.
The Aurora Ryzen R10 has a streamlined design and steam chamber technology to dissipate heat. The tower has rounded corners and lighting on the front.
