The year 2020 brought dozens of great games and, among the releases, there are some excellent options for PC players, whether it’s RPG, first-person shooter, MMO, or esports. PC Gaming fans are well served in various genres, with high budget options such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Doom Eternal, and even free games such as Valorant and Genshin Impact.
Check out the list Techidence has prepared with the top five PC titles released in 2020 (available for purchase at Steam and Windows Store).
1. Cyberpunk 2077
One of the most anticipated games of the last decade, Cyberpunk 2077 was developed by CD Projekt RED, the same company responsible for the award-winning The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game storyline is set in the Night City, in a dystopian future in which players control their customized version of V, the protagonist of the title.
Besides the console versions, Cyberpunk 2077 also reaches PCs, with a first-class look and very advanced graphic options. It is worth mentioning the huge map of the game, with more than 20 hours of secondary activities, which can be performed alongside the main campaign, (which has another 20 hours of duration).
2. Valorant
Valorant marks Riot Games’ entry into the world of competitive first-person shooter games. The creators of League of Legends (LoL) bet on game mechanics similar to those seen in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), but without forgetting its target audience, which gained special skills, ultimates, and skins in the best style of LoL and Overwatch.
Exclusive to PCs, the game is free to play and well optimized to run even on older machines with limited settings. These factors, combined with the focus on esports, made Valorant fall in the taste of the community quickly and is already seen as the great rival of CS:GO.

3. Flight Simulator
Simulation games have always been a success among PC players, and Microsoft Flight Simulator targets exactly this audience. Ultra-realistic, the game allows users to fly planes in real cities and has several advanced configurations and tools seen in real models. The aircraft available range from small passenger planes to larger versions, with room for hundreds of passengers.
The graphics are one of the highlights of Flight Simulator, which can have its gameplay easily confused with real images of a flight. The presence of real maps, inspired by 40 airports in the world, also ensures fun for a long time to enthusiasts of the genre.
4. Doom Eternal
One of the most classic franchises in the gaming world, Doom has its roots in the PC, a platform that was originally launched in 1993. In its 2020 version, Doom Eternal bets on many of the elements that made the FPS series famous, such as its frenetic gameplay and bloody combat.
A sequel to the 2016 reboot, also developed by Bethesda, the game ensures an exciting and challenging experience for players, with duels against giant demons and hordes of monsters. The arsenal of weapons is one of the most varied and fun, combining well with the gameplay loose and enjoyable.
5. Genshin Impact
One of the main surprises of 2020, Genshin Impact revived Asian MMORPGs in the West. Available for the most diverse platforms (including cell phones and consoles), Mihoyo’s game is also on the PC and can be played for free, including cross-play between all its versions.
Light to run, the title has already hit the 17 million download mark and has developed a very strong and bustling community. Despite its simplified style (which is ideal for beginners in the genre), the MMO has several layers of complexity, with complex builds and tier lists of classes and hits.
